We have cable!
Yay! As of this tuesday, we have cable! Technically, we always had cable — the $15/month “basic” service that provided us with a few channels (ABC, CBS, etc) but not much.
However, comcast is currently doing a 6 month promotion wherein the “standard” cable package (normally around $45 per month) is only $20/month. Since it’s now basketball season, we decided to get it (for 6 months only). So, we’ve now got standard cable (plus a $5/month sports package to make sure i get as many duke basketball games as possible).
I’m definitely looking forward to being able to watch Duke basketball games at home … and once i get the Tivo working with the cable box it’ll be super awesome!
Better still, since I moved my cell phone number over to an available line on Sammye’s family plan, my cell phone bill went from around $45/month to about $15/month, so even though we’re spending an extra $30 or so (probably more after taxes & fees) on cable, our total expenses won’t change much (we’re anticipating a slight increase of a few dollars, but no more) because of the savings from switching to Sammye’s family cell phone plan.
Anyway, yay for cable!
